Who doesn’t want to make more money? Am I right? In today’s podcast episode, I’m taking you behind the scenes in some of my private coaching calls. So I’ve gone through some of the notes from my private coaching sessions. I’m going to be sharing with you some of the money making secret strategies I use with my coaching clients so that you can learn from these and implement them to turn your business into a money making machine as well.

Why you need to work on your money mindset to make more money
So let’s talk about how you can make more money in your business. The first strategy that I always use with clients of mine is to work on their money mindset and create a faith that everything will be okay. Now this is why I bang on about mindset so much, because what you believe shapes your actions, and your actions shape your outcomes. So this is why it is really important that you have this underlying faith or belief that everything is going to work out okay and that everything is always happening in your favor.
When you believe that your success is inevitable, guess what you eventually create? Success. So the first and most powerful thing that you can do to shift the money that you are attracting into your life is to work on your mindset and specifically your money mindset. When you have an unshakeable faith that all the wealth you desire is coming your way, you will continue to take actions that attract the result that you desire. So first and foremost, as always, work on that money mindset. Create a faith that everything you desire is coming your way and that everything is working out in your favor.
How self-love translates to business success
The next thing that I’ve been working a lot on with my private coaching clients lately is the concept of self love. It’s something I’ve been working on myself a lot lately, too. So how does self love make you money? Well, let me explain. Self love leads to self confidence, and self confidence affects how you show up for your business, whether it’s selling in your business, in your marketing, or how you are serving your clients in your courses, programs, or in your one-on-one service offering. Self confidence leads to sales.
So, how can you learn to love yourself? It would be silly for me to pretend that I can take you on that whole journey inside a podcast episode. But one really good tip I’ve got is to be very mindful of how you speak to yourself, whether it’s out loud or in your head. Let me share an example. When I used to go to the gym, I would look in the mirror and I would constantly criticize myself. I would look for every lump or bump that I didn’t like, and I’d compare myself to other people in the class and think how much I disliked parts of my body. As you can imagine, what that does is it just causes more and more dislike rather than a sense of self love.
So when I’ve been on my self love journey, what I start to do is look at myself in the mirror and start to really love on myself, really focus in on the parts of my body that I do like, and inside my head praise myself for them. Yes, it might be physical things of how you look, but I also praise myself on the actions that I take. So if I’m at the gym on a Saturday morning after eating an entire pizza the night before, rather than focusing in on that eating the pizza factor, I focus in on the fact that I am there at the gym making an effort to make myself healthier and fitter. I’ll say to myself, “it’s a really cold day today. You could have stayed at home in bed, but you were here and I’m so proud of you, and you’re making yourself fitter and healthier. You’re amazing, Clare. You’ve done such a great job to be here.” Now I know that might sound a little bit cringe-worthy, but trust me on this, words are so powerful. If you are constantly filling yourself with self loathing words, that is going to impact on your self confidence, which in turn will impact on your sales or the amount of money that you make in your business. So learning to love yourself is a journey. It doesn’t happen overnight, but this is definitely something that I’ve been doing a lot of myself as my business is growing, and that I’m really encouraging my coaching clients to do as well, is learning to love themselves and focus in on the good. As I said before, words are so powerful.
The importance of a financial plan and tracking sales
The next money making strategy that I use with private coaching clients of mine is to create a financial plan and then track sales and financial results. I regularly sit down with my private coaching clients and create a financial plan. We’ll sit down together and look at their sales plan over the next 12 months, including the investments or the expenditure they will need to incur to achieve the sales targets they desire. I know I bang on about this a lot, but I really think it’s hard to achieve incredible things when you don’t have a plan of how you are going to get there, and money plays into this in so many ways.
If you’re wanting to get a really different outcome in the money that you’re bringing into your business, it’s also important that you have a plan of how you’re going to be investing into the business differently. It’s that old saying, if you keep doing the same thing you’ve always done, you’ll probably get what you’ve always gotten. So if you are planning to achieve some rapid growth in your business, make sure that you are not just making that plan at the top line. Make sure you’re also being mindful of the investments that you need to make into your business, be it team members, hiring a coach, upleveling your marketing, whatever that looks like for you, make sure that you’re building that into your financial plan on the expenditure side as well. This is something I’m doing with my clients on the regular, and of course, we are then coming back and checking how the actual results that they are achieving are coming in as compared to the plans that they had set.
Look at what IS working and what IS NOT
Okay, next money making strategy. Constantly evaluate what is working and what isn’t working, and adjust. This was something I saw in the notes from one of my coaching sessions, and boy is this a game changer. You guys are going to love this. I have found that a really fast way to move my clients forward is to ask them, what is working for you right now? Then ask them, what’s not working for you right now? Then ask them, what were you doing when things were working really well for you? It’s so easy to get stuck in our stories, our patterns, our actions, our strategies in business, without stepping back and evaluating what’s really going on. This is one of the beautiful and powerful things about coaching or mentoring is that someone on the outside can ask you to step back, step out of a situation you’re in and to look at it with new eyes. What were you doing when things were working? The more you’re able to constantly evaluate what is working, what isn’t working, and to adjust things in your business, the faster you are able to get big shifts and in turn make more money.
Learning how to shift out of shitty situations
That leads me to the fifth point, which is the art of learning how to shift out of shit situations quickly. Something I have learnt from being a coach or a mentor for over five years now is that everyone goes through shit times. Even the most incredible, amazing, and inspiring business owners that I work with go through rough times and challenging patches in business. The reason is, this is life, right? Things always happen that are going to be challenging, whether it’s in business or in your personal life. Something I have observed, though, is that people who get really rapid shifts in their business, in their growth, in their life are those that are able to identify the challenging situation, but then move or navigate through it quickly.
Of course, having the support of a coach, a mentor, or an incredible peer group inside a mastermind or the like is going to help you move through that faster. But the truth is, is that the growth, the change, the ability to move through these situations ultimately comes from within. People outside can support you, but ultimately that change, that shift, the ability to move through challenging times has to come from within. Tough times are going to happen and learning how to navigate through them will be one of the secret strategies to get you making money again faster no matter what is happening in the environment around you.
One of the best techniques I’ve found in here is letting go of the how. So, for example, if you have a launch that doesn’t go to plan, or if you hired the wrong team member, or if you aren’t on track to the sales numbers that you want, when you really go back to point number one, which is learning to trust and have that belief in your inevitable success, and you bring that into this process of navigating through crappy times, you truly can start to let go of the how. Say, “Hmm, that’s weird. I really thought this was going to work. I know that something better is coming along.” Or, “I know that I’ve learned a powerful lesson through this process.” Learning to move through shitty situations really is a game changer when it comes to upleveling your financial results and doing it quickly.
So to sum up today’s episode, to turn your business into a money making machine, here are some of the strategies that I suggest. Firstly, make a plan. Then stay focused on your plan. Keep coming back to it and checking in what’s working and what’s not working. Then if things aren’t going to plan, don’t freak out about it. Learn to move through a challenging time, let go of the how, keeping the faith that your success is inevitable. When you trust that everything you desire is coming your way, you never ever give up.
