It is possible for your life to look completely different in just 12 months. Now, sometimes this is a good thing. It is possible for your life to look completely different in just 12 months. Now, sometimes this isn’t a good thing, and sometimes this is a sensational thing. Your life can change immeasurably in a very short period of time, particularly if you put intention around it. In today’s episode of the podcast, I’m going to share how you can create a whole new level of wealth, health, success, and happiness in 2024.

How things can change in as little as 12 months
So, let’s talk about change. I want you to think about a time when your life looked completely different, 12 months apart. I can think of so many times in my life where this has been the case, but a couple of the big ones that spring to mind, the first really major, major life shift that I had that’s really shifted the entire trajectory of my life. When I was in my early twenties, I was living with my partner at the time in you. We’d been together for nearly six years living in a house that we bought and owned, and I was working in a government job. Then 12 months later, I was living on the other side of the earth, living in London in a big share house with a ton of flatmates, single and working for the B, B, C. So my life 12 months later looked completely different.
Another really big life change. One year I was not pregnant working in a corporate job, and by the same time next year I was a mother to my first child. And after I had my son, I got made redundant on mat leave, which was that push to start my own business. How different your life can look in a 12 month period. I’m willing to bet there has been a 12 month period of your life where your life looked dramatically different to what it did just one year earlier, a new relationship, a breakup, moving house, having kids starting a business, et cetera, et cetera. Now, sometimes these changes are not planned or perhaps not even positive. But today we’re going to focus on intentional change.
How to create change by simply changing your mindset
We’re going to really talk about what if it’s that you’re wanting to create change in an area or multiple areas of your life, how do you actually go about that?
Well, first of all, everything I teach about starts in mindset. The first thing you might think is, is that even possible? I know when I’m going through goal setting with clients of mine, they often hold themselves back because they think is that thing that I want even really possible for me? And the next thing that you might find that pops up is the question, do I even actually want that? I know for me sometimes when I think about my big goals, it feels so scary and overwhelming and I’m like, my life’s actually really pretty damn good right now. Do I want to go and screw that up? So it’s really interesting to start to absorb.
So it’s really interesting to start to observe the thoughts and the stories that come up as you are noticing them. Explore, why do I feel this way? Am I scared? Am I fearful? And once you’ve understood and got clear on the mindset, started to realize some of the reasons that you might be holding yourself back.
Get clear on what you actually want
The next thing that you want to do is get clear on what you want, what you really want, not what someone else wants, what you want. So often in life, our stories, the things that we want are dictated to us by other people, by other people’s money stories. Maybe your partner is saying to you, you don’t really want to do that. Inside my course this morning, one of the students inside my program said, her accountant said, you don’t want to earn any more money because that’ll push you into the next tax bracket. He was basically discouraging her from earning more money. So get crystal clear about what exactly it is that you want, and when you do this activity, do it across all or as many areas of your life as you are wanting to create change. It might be your health, your relationships, where you live, where you want to travel to your work, your clients, your hours of work. Really get crystal clear about what it is that you truly desire. And again, as you’re going through this observe, notice the mindset stories that come up. I shouldn’t want that. I’m already so lucky to have the amazing life that I have. I shouldn’t desire more. Dive in and just start to notice where your subconscious mind is trying to hold you back.
Map out your actions and create an accountability plan
Once you’ve figured out what it is that you want, the next step is to map out the actions to get you from where you are to where you want to be. What would be the things that you would need to do? Who is the person that you would need to be to create this next level of growth or success in the era of your life? What are the steps that you need to take? Who is the person that you need to become to create that sustainable change? And the next thing that I really recommend that you do if you are wanting to create transformational change in any area of your life is to come up with your accountability plan. Who is going to keep you on track? If you want to uplevel your health and wellness? Are you investing to work with a health coach or a personal trainer? If you’re wanting to create massive growth in your business, are you going to work with a mentor or a business coach? If you are wanting to uplevel your connection inside your relationship, are you going to work with a relationship counselor?
The thing is, a lot of the times it’s very hard for us to create sustainable change if we aren’t doing the deep inner work that sits behind it. Even if you do take the action, you might slip back into your old patterns or habits. So if you are wanting to create breakthrough change, think about how you can be supported on that journey, who will keep you accountable, who will keep you on track, who will support you when there’s bumps along the way or challenges, which invariably there is going to be when you’re wanting to create change in any area of your life.
As we approach a brand new year, we approach a brand new opportunity, a brand new opportunity to uplevel your life in the most amazing ways. And the best way to do that is to have a game plan about how you are going to create this transformation. I know what’s possible. I’ve witnessed it inside my own life and inside the lives of many clients of mine over the years, and I really desire it for you. But it does mean doing things differently.
